Why are you starting a home based business?
My personal opinion is that starting a home based business is a great idea and makes sense even if you are working a full time career. In that instance as long as it doesn’t affect your work or personal life then making some extra cash never hurt anyone.
We started out as a home based business and grew to be a multi-million dollar company.
So did Apple, Hershey, and Ford.
Before you even put pen to paper for your business plan you will want to answer a very important question that will define the future of your company.
Is working out of your home the permanent goal … or a temporary solution for the beginning of your soon-to-be-growing-out-control corporation?
A very important and honest self assessment is required if you decide to work from your house permanently.
It takes a certain individual to stay in their place of comfort and safety and still work as diligently with a high level of consistent motivation.
When working from home the temptations are many and your major battle will be to maintain an unswerving work ethic while surrounded by your personal luxuries and random freedom.
The PlayStation is right there …
Modern Warfare 3 just came out and …
It’s a beautiful day out and taking the dogs to the park for a picnic would be nice …
It’s hunting/skiing season …
This last minute deal to Maui is only $999 for 2 weeks with airfare included …
I’m tired and this bed is so warm and comfortable right now …
I don’t wanna go to work …
{insert clever reason not work here}
FACT: People who work hard in the office may fail miserably when trying from home due to the convenient distractions.
Personally, I find the most tempting motivation for starting a home based business is the simple fact that there is nothing wrong with wanting to remain numero uno … your only asset and even more favorably … your only liability.
When and if you ever started a home based business make sure you ask yourself this one important question ... are you home to stay or home to start?
more to come …
